In Mandragora we are up to date with the news and trends that come from all over the world. But at the same time we are very local, because we value our way of life in our beloved town, Hondarribia (Gipuzkoa). Whenever we go outside we say with pride that we are wedding photographers from the Basque Country. We appreciate the good food, the “kuadilla”, the “pintxopote”, the mountain, the sea, … and our traditions.
A year ago Ale (Pannateneas Wedding Planners) contacted us to make a wedding in Eneperi restaurant in Bakio (Bizkaia). It was a wedding for Americans and Basques. We love these destination weddings because all the guests come with a super festive attitude. What we did not expect was that some Americans spoke Basque! We hallucinate. Soon we knew about the connection that Anna and many of the guests have with our land.
“Bertsos”, “trikitixas”, “Arin Arin”, “Aurreskus”, handkerchiefs of “arrantzale” around the neck … it did not miss anything. The long tables of the Eneperi Restaurant witnessed the union of two cultures. In this wedding everyone was one, “denak bat”, all together. It was a pleasure to see them enjoy the Basque culture.
The views to Gaztelugatxe were spectacular … but having a “kalejira”, who remembers the scenario of Game of Thrones ?. Anna and Matt, you are true ambassadors of the Basque Country. Thank you very much for trusting us for this special day!
